MP Patwari Exam Day Timetable

The MP Patwari exam is conducted in two shifts on the notified date. The table below shows the reporting time, the window for reading instructions, and the actual exam timing for each shift, so you know exactly when to reach the centre.

The exam may be spread over additional dates depending on the number of candidates, so check your admit card for your exact date and shift.

Candidates choose four exam cities in order of preference while applying. The possible exam cities are Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Khandwa, Neemuch, Ratlam, Rewa, Sagar, Satna, Sidhi, and Ujjain. MPESB allots a city based on seat availability, so you may not always get your first preference.

Since this recruitment is only for PwD candidates, it is worth confirming your eligibility carefully before you begin the application.

Disability Categories and Reservation

The Patwari post follows a specific rule within the notification that lists three eligible disability categories, with a horizontal reservation of 2 percent each, adding up to 6 percent overall for this post.

Visually impaired candidates are not eligible for the Patwari post, as per a separate Revenue Department order referenced in the notification.

It is worth noting that this 2-2-2 percent structure is specific to Patwari. The general PwD reservation policy that applies across the wider combined exam, described separately in the notification, is 6 percent split across four categories at 1.5 percent each, including visually impaired candidates. For Patwari, this general rule is overridden by the post-specific provision above, which excludes visually impaired candidates entirely.

Disqualifications

The notification also lists conditions under which a candidate will be disqualified from selection, even if otherwise eligible:

• Being of unsound mind.

• Having a record of bad character.

• Suffering from a permanent physical infirmity that prevents you from performing your duties (a temporary illness or condition does not count).

• Attempting to canvass or seek support for your candidature through any improper means.

• Having married before the minimum legal age, or having married someone whose earlier spouse is still living.

• Having more than two living children born after 26 January 2001, subject to the exception mentioned in the notification.

• Submitting forged records or documents.

• Misbehaving or attempting to disturb order at the exam centre.

• Having been previously dismissed from government or local body service due to misconduct.

• Having been convicted of, or having a pending case involving, an offence of moral turpitude.

• Being certified as mentally unfit by a government medical officer not below the rank of Civil Surgeon.

• Submitting fake documents, tampering with documents, or concealing material information at any stage of the selection process.

Application Fee

The application fee depends on your category, and there is an additional small portal charge depending on whether you apply yourself or through a kiosk.

If you need to correct your form after submission, there is a separate charge for that as well.

MP Patwari Apply Online Process

Step 1: Visit the official MPESB website and open the online application section for the Group 2 Sub Group 4 Recruitment 2026.

Step 2: Read the instructions and declaration displayed on the screen, tick the declaration checkbox to confirm that you have understood the rules and eligibility conditions, then click Continue to proceed with the application.

Step 3: If you are applying for the first time, complete the registration process to create your candidate profile by clicking on Profile Registration. Existing applicants can log in using their registered credentials.

Step 4: Access the online application form and enter your personal, educational, and other required details carefully.

Step 5: Upload the necessary documents, including your recent passport size photograph, signature, and any other certificates required in the prescribed format.

Step 6: Verify all the information entered in the application form before proceeding to the next step.

Step 7: Make the online payment of the application fee using one of the available payment methods.

Step 8: Submit the completed application form after the payment is successful.

Step 9: Save and print the submitted application form and payment receipt for future reference.

You can also apply by visiting an MP Online authorized kiosk near you. They'll fill and submit the form for you against a small kiosk fee.

The application form can be submitted online until 11:59 PM on the last date. 

A few other points are worth keeping in mind. If you are eligible for and apply to more than one post within the combined exam, you must clearly rank your preferences, since your result will be processed only according to the preference order you specify. 

Providing false or incorrect information in your application can lead to cancellation of your candidature at any stage, even after selection. If you submit more than one application for this recruitment, all such applications will be rejected.

Required Documents, Photo, and Signature Specifications

Many application forms get rejected due to an incorrect photo or signature, so it is worth reading this section carefully.

Photo requirements:

• A color photo with a white background and good print quality.

• The face must be taken from the front, with both ears clearly visible.

• The photo must not be older than three months from the date of application.

• The date the photo was taken and the applicant's name must be clearly printed on the photograph itself.

• If you had a beard or were clean-shaven in your uploaded photo, you must appear the same way at the exam centre.

• If you normally wear reading glasses, wear them in the photo. Photos taken with dark or tinted glasses are not accepted.

• Polaroid photographs are not accepted.

• Keep at least five extra copies of the same photograph, as you will need it again at the exam and during counselling.

Signature and handwriting: The photo, signature, and a two-line handwritten declaration must be combined into a single scanned image, with the photo placed at the top and the signature below it, following the template provided on the portal. Only a full signature is accepted; signatures in capital letters, short initials, or more than one signature style are not valid.

Documents to scan and upload:

• 8th, 10th, or 12th mark sheet, as proof of date of birth.

• Caste or category certificate, for SC, ST, OBC, or EWS candidates.

• PwD disability certificate, which is mandatory for this recruitment.

• Contract employee certificate, if applicable.

• NCC or other bonus-point certificates, if applicable.

A missing or unclear photo, signature, or handwriting sample will lead to rejection of the application form.

Exam Pattern

The exam consists of one paper divided into two parts, as shown below.

The questions are objective type, with four options each, and are available in both Hindi and English. One mark is awarded for each correct answer, and 0.25 marks are deducted for each wrong answer. Since this is a computer-based test, you select your answer by clicking the correct option with the mouse.

What to Carry to the Exam?

Carrying the right items, and avoiding the banned ones, is essential for a smooth entry into the exam hall.

Items to carry:

• Your admit card (Test Admit Card), downloaded and printed from esb.mp.gov.in.

• One original photo ID: Voter ID, PAN card, Aadhaar card, Driving Licence, or Passport. An e-Aadhaar printout is valid only if it is UIDAI-verified. Separately, you must also carry your Aadhaar card, e-Aadhaar, a photocopy of it, or your Aadhaar number for biometric verification.

• A black ball-point pen.

• Part 2 of your admit card, filled in advance. The notification's rules on the online exam system state that, besides biometric verification, every candidate must bring the filled second part of the Test Admit Card to the exam.

Items strictly banned: Mobile phones, calculators of any kind, Bluetooth devices, smartwatches or alarm watches, listening or recording devices, pagers, log tables, protractors, compasses, scales, sunglasses, correction fluid or whitener, and any loose or rough paper.

Do's and Don'ts on Exam Day

You should reach the centre well before your reporting time, since late entry is not allowed under any circumstances. Carry your ID and admit card even if you have applied online multiple times, as mismatched details can block your entry. Cooperate fully with the biometric verification at entry and again during the exam. If you have locked biometric access on the UIDAI app or portal, unlock it beforehand. When asked, sign, give your left thumb impression, and complete the handwriting lines on your admit card exactly as instructed.

At the same time, avoid shouting, talking, whispering, gesturing, or trying to contact other candidates during the exam. If you are found with a banned item, do not refuse to hand it over or try to destroy it, as this leads to an Unfair Means case, described in detail in the next section. Do not leave the exam hall before the full duration is over, even if you finish early, and do not argue with or threaten exam staff.

Unfair Means (UFM) Rules

MPESB treats certain actions during the exam as Unfair Means, and any such case can lead to cancellation of your candidature, along with further legal action in serious cases.

The following are treated as Unfair Means:

• Carrying a mobile phone, calculator, log table, rough paper, loose slip, electronic watch, or any other electronic device into the exam hall.

• Shouting, talking, whispering, gesturing, or contacting another candidate during the exam.

• Refusing to hand over a banned item when asked, destroying it, or using it during the exam.

• Refusing to sign documents related to a malpractice case.

• Disobeying or ignoring instructions from exam officials.

• Refusing to return other documents as instructed by an official.

• Harassing, threatening, or physically harming exam staff.

• Using a mobile phone or any electronic device inside the exam hall.

• Any case where another person is found to have helped the candidate cheat.

• Any other act, activity, or process that compromises the integrity of the exam.

• Any statistical irregularity found in a candidate's data during MPESB's post-exam analysis.

Impersonation, meaning appearing for the exam on someone else's behalf, or having someone else appear on your behalf, is treated as a criminal offence. In such cases, along with the Unfair Means case, an FIR is filed, and legal action is taken against both the candidate and the person who impersonated them.

Facilities for PwD Candidates in the Exam

The exam provides additional support for certain PwD candidates, such as a scribe to write on their behalf or extra time to complete the paper, depending on their disability category.

The amount of extra time depends on the duration of the exam.

To claim this facility, you must submit your request along with the required documents and an affidavit to the MPESB office at least 10 days before the exam date.

Selection Process

Once the exam is over, selection follows a defined process, from the merit list to the final appointment order.

1. The computer-based exam is conducted for 200 marks, as described above.

2. A merit list is prepared using a percentile-based scoring method rather than raw marks, which adjusts for difficulty differences between shifts.

3. The minimum qualifying marks are 50 percent for unreserved candidates, and 40 percent for SC, ST, OBC, EWS, and PwD candidates, who get a 10 percent relaxation.

4. Candidates rank their preferred districts while applying. Based on merit rank and category, MPESB allots one district to each candidate in a single round of counselling, and this allotment is final.

5. A district-level committee then verifies your original documents against what you entered online. Any mismatch can lead to cancellation of your candidature.

6. Finally, the local Sub-Divisional Officer (Revenue) issues the appointment order after document verification is complete.

If a candidate does not appear for counselling, or fails document verification, the seat is cancelled and no second round of counselling is held for that vacancy. Also, no selected candidate will be posted in their home tehsil.

Result declaration: Before the final result is declared, MPESB publishes subject-wise model answers on its website for candidates' reference. Once all stages of the exam are complete, the result is uploaded only on esb.mp.gov.in. Results are not sent by post, so you need to check and download the result from the website yourself.

Travel Allowance (TA) for Reserved Category and PwD Candidates

Candidates who are permanent residents of Madhya Pradesh and belong to the Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, or Other Backward Class categories, as well as candidates certified as physically disabled, are entitled to reimbursement of their travel expenses for attending the exam. To claim this, you must submit a self-attested copy of your category certificate, issued by a competent government authority, as documentary proof, exactly as specified in the notification.

This reimbursement is made only through e-payment, not in cash. You need to submit your bank account details, using the format provided in the notification (Annexure-1), along with proof of your attendance at the exam, to the concerned department.

The pay scale for the Patwari post is Rs. 5,200 to Rs. 20,200, with a Grade Pay of Rs. 2,100, as per the applicable pay commission structure, along with other allowances. The in-hand salary is generally higher once allowances are added, and the exact figure depends on the posting location and the applicable HRA slab.
